The Arts
Information
Sacred Heart believes in Arts Education. Exposing children to music and art during early development helps them learn sounds and meanings of words. It also helps develop their creative thinking, problem-solving, self-expression, and self-esteem. This development continues into older children and adults. Furthermore, an education in the fine arts helps students to see what they look at, hear what they listen to, and feel what they touch. It helps students to stretch their minds beyond the boundaries of textbooks or curriculum rules.
Our students have opportunities to participate in many different art competitions and shows throughout the school year, such as the Waterworks' School Art Show and the Rowan County Art Show.
Our students also have opportunities to be a part of our parish choirs, Christmas programs, and our Annual Spring Musical which is traditionally performed at Catawba College in the Spring. Our past performances have included The Wizard of Oz, Seussical the Musical, The Little Mermaid, Alice in Wonderland, 101 Dalmations, Into the Woods, and Madagascar.
