Screenagers at Sacred Heart

Sacred Heart is really excited to share this opportunity with our families, parish and friends. SHCS is hosting a 3-part series highlighting the movie Screenagers. Screenagers is about the impact of the digital age on children and how to help families minimize harmful effects and find balance. It is a 68-minute film directed by Dr. Delaney Ruston. The series will be held on three consecutive Tuesday evenings at 6pm on the SHCS campus, starting on October 30th.

We love our furry and feathery friends! In October, we celebrated our Annual Blessing of the Animals, in memory of St. Francis of Assisi. Every creature is important. The love we give to a pet, and receive from a pet, can draw us more deeply into the large circle of life, into the wonder of our common relationship to our Creator.

Congratulations to Lauren Denhard!

Congratulations to Gray Stone Day School for winning the 1A/2A Women’s Golf State Championship... and to Lauren Denhard (SHCS Alumni Class of 2015) who led the Knights with a two day score of 158 (81-77). She placed 4th overall in the field of 78 players.

Ag in the Classroom! Learning outside!

Coming up what? Not roses, but SWEET POTATOES!
This month, our 5th graders headed down their "sweet potato" finish line. It all started with their NC Project in 4th grade six months ago. Their assignments included actually planting a cash crop of NC... so it was decided to plant sweet potatoes! After growing all summer, today was "harvest day" and lots of digging in the dirt. We ALL are excited for "cooking day" when they treat their class and faculty to different recipes made with sweet potatoes.
