A Bethlehem Night

Sacred Heart School hosted their Annual Grandparent Social. What a great time! We all enjoyed "A Bethlehem Night", a musical story about the birth of Jesus told through the Shepherds. Mayla Brinkley is chosen for RPL Bookmark Award

Congratulations to 5th grader Mayla Brinkley!
Rowan Public Library celebrated the winners of its annual Bookmark Design Contest. Submissions were to be original designs and reflect the theme of books, reading, libraries, and/or literacy. Sponsored by Friends of Rowan Public Library, the contest received over 250 entries. Prizes were awarded to first, second, and third-place in three age-based categories.
In the 10 to 11-years-old category, Mayla Brinkley (Sacred Heart) placed second.

Congratulations to Lauren Denhard!

Congratulations to Gray Stone Day School for winning the 1A/2A Women’s Golf State Championship... and to Lauren Denhard (SHCS Alumni Class of 2015) who led the Knights with a two day score of 158 (81-77). She placed 4th overall in the field of 78 players. She has also committed to Belmont Abbey College to play golf!

Toys for Tots Drive

"It is better to give than to receive!"
Our SHCS students and families were recognized for their generosity and kindness with our local Rowan County Toys for Tots Collection. Overall, we collected 754 brand new toys for needy children to help make their Christmas brighter. This follows right along our Virtues Program of Kindness and Generosity. Toys for Tots has allowed our students to put those virtues into action. We are very thankful to 4th grader Aidan Melton, his mom (Tara Melton), and his grandmother (Colleen Smiley) for their inspiration, hard work, and dedication to help SHCS make their Toys for Tots Collection such a success.
